In Roosendaal, we find the vocational college Curio, the largest vocational educator in Southwest Brabant. Curio has decided to introduce their students and teachers to fitness and challenge them by adding a functional training space to their Roosendaal location. For the setup of this space, which ranges from a sprint track to a pulley system, and from cardio to functional equipment, Curio has chosen our expertise.
The fitness space at Curio is a dynamic place where not only is worked on physical conditioning, but also where lessons about lifestyle and training science are given. Moreover, the space is used for rock & water training and social skills training. It is interesting that the sports space also functions as a learning environment for Level 2 students of the Sports and Recreation program, who in turn guide the teachers during sports activities. This not only promotes the vitality of the colleagues, but also contributes to the practical experience of the students.
The importance of physical exercise
This integration of fitness and education at Curio is very valuable. Regular physical exercise helps not only in building muscle strength and improving endurance, but also plays a crucial role in mental health, reducing stress, and improving concentration and cognitive functions. For teachers, for example, it is an effective way to deal with work-related stress and it serves as a role model for students. Through this approach, students and teachers develop healthy habits that last a lifetime and strengthen the school community as a whole.
